Although her commercials on spacetoon used to scare me so…oh spacetoon what has happened to you =’( 

Fulla is a fashion doll created for & marketed specifically to countries with a considerable Muslim population. Notice she has dark hair & eyes & her outfit is in line with Islam’s guidelines regarding manner of dress. The company that makes her also sells Burqas & Abayas separately. As Fulla is roughly the same size as Barbie, these would fit Mattel dolls of that line.

She is often referred to as “Muslim Barbie”, but that is inaccurate, as ‘Barbie’ is a trademark of Mattel & not only does Fulla have her own name, she is made by a completely different company.

I just realised that FYDOC is, like, 14 months old, so I’ve re-queued some of my favorite posts from the first few months of its existence.

this is really cute, but is it possible for them to have darker dolls as well? just because most muslims tend to be brown people and generally not this light.
